Custom Design & Branding

Logo application, labelling and packaging programmes that turn a carrier platform into your own brand line.

Custom Design & Branding programmes run at MOQ 500 pieces per colourway with samples in 6-10 working days and bulk production in 35-50 days. Logo application, labelling and packaging programmes that turn a carrier platform into your own brand line.

Custom Design & Branding production sample

Custom branding is where a carrier platform stops being a catalogue item and becomes a product line. The decisions are made in a fixed order: first the logo method, because it sets the minimum panel size and placement; then the colourway, because a logo behaves differently on 600D Oxford than on a TPU-laminated shell; then the label and packaging set, because compliance text and barcodes have to survive the retail channel you sell through. We run all three from one tech pack so the artwork, the sewn-in label and the carton print agree with each other before sampling starts.

Choosing a logo method

The logo method is not a cosmetic decision; it constrains panel geometry, minimum order and unit cost. Screen print is cheapest at volume and works on flat panels, but it needs a smooth substrate and a limited colour count - usually four separations before the set-up cost stops making sense. Heat transfer handles gradients and photographic artwork at low set-up, which suits short runs and seasonal designs. Embroidery reads as premium and survives abrasion better than any print, but it needs a 25 mm minimum height and stiffens the panel it sits on. Woven labels are the workhorse: they cost little, look intentional and carry the care and compliance text at the same time.

Moulded PVC patches, debossed leather patches and enamel metal badges are the three ways to buy perceived value. Each carries tooling, and each has a minimum panel size - a 40 mm badge needs roughly 60 mm of clear panel around it to look deliberate rather than crowded. We quote all of these against the same brief so the decision is made on landed cost per unit rather than on a sample that looked good in isolation.

Colour, labelling and packaging

Colour approval happens on the production fabric, not on a paper swatch, because the same Pantone reference reads differently on 600D Oxford and on TPU laminate. Lab dips are returned on the actual substrate, and bulk is matched to the approved dip under standardised lighting with a metamerism check against retail LED. Where a brand runs the same colour across a carrier and its accessories, the dye-lot reference is held and reused so the assortment matches on shelf.

The label set is where compliance and brand meet. A sewn-in brand label, a care label with fibre content, a country-of-origin mark and a scannable barcode are the minimum for most markets; US-bound children's product classifications add CPSIA tracking information, and EU-bound goods add REACH-restricted substance documentation. Packaging then follows the channel: bulk polybag for e-commerce fulfilment, header card or printed box for shelf, mailer box for direct-to-consumer launches.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order for a custom branded carrier?

500 pieces per colourway. Logo set-up - screens, embroidery tape, moulds - is amortised over the run and is quoted separately so you can see what a repeat order costs.

Which logo method should we use?

Screen print for flat artwork at volume, heat transfer for gradients and short runs, embroidery for a premium hand feel, and patches or badges when perceived value matters more than unit cost.

Can you match our existing brand colour?

Yes. Provide the Pantone reference and we return lab dips on the production fabric, then match bulk to the approved dip under standardised lighting.

How long does sampling take?

First prototypes ship in 6-10 working days after the tech pack is confirmed; revisions typically add 3-5 working days per round.

What about bulk lead time?

35-50 days after sample approval, depending on material availability and order size.

Planning a custom design & branding programme? MOQ 500 pieces per colourway, samples in 6-10 working days, bulk production in 35-50 days under AQL 2.5 inspection.
